We are pleased to announce that Murad Guliyev is being appointed as Group Drilling & Wells Director at GL Group, effective October 15, 2025. He will report to Gilbert Beuhler, SVP Technical Functions & International Operations.
Murad is a drilling professional with over 22 years of international experience across Azerbaijan, the USA, the UK, and the Middle East, having served in technical and operational roles at BP, ENI, and Saudi Aramco. His past work includes projects such as ACG, Shah Deniz, Thunder Horse, Atlantis, Ghawar, and Shaybah.
His expertise spans the full lifecycle of well delivery from concept and engineering to execution and performance optimization, with strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and operational excellence. He is well positioned to lead our Drilling & Wells function into its next growth phase.
This appointment is part of our commitment to nationalizing this role. Murad takes over from David Triolo, who has done an outstanding job supporting GL Group’s drilling and wells development agenda over the past several years.
We are grateful that David will continue with GL Group, supporting our overseas drilling & wells programs. He will also help Murad strengthen our Drilling & Wells organization and elevate it to world-class standards.
